Participate in the Consecration

1) Join us for the Divine Services and the banquet! The services for the Consecration - Great Vespers, Orthros, and the Consecration Liturgy - are among the most beautiful in our tradition. These services will also coincide with the feast day of our patron - St. Demetrios the Great-Martyr - and the 87th Anniversary of our parish.

We will be celebrating our feast day together with the consecration this year with a banquet on Saturday, October 26th, 2024, beginning at 5:00 pm.

To purchase tickets for the banquet, contact the Church Office: (989) 793 - 8822 / stdemetriosmi@gmail.com.

2) Donate towards the Consecration: There are many expenses associated with a Consecration, some of which have already been sponsored either by individuals or by a generous grant from the St. Demetrios Endowment Fund. If you would like to contribute towards these expenses or offer a gift in honor of this incredible milestone, you can do so using the link below:

3) Place an ad in the Consecration Commemorative Photobook: We are preparing a commemorative album of our parish history in honor of the consecration of our church! Most of this book will be photos and other memorabilia from our parish history, but we have reserved a portion of it for personal ads and messages from parishioners and friends of our community. You can purchase ad space in the photobook using the form and donation link below, or just support the book through the donation link.

4) Pray for us! This is a momentous occasion for us as a community and holy milestone for the ministries of the parish. Pray for our community, for the bishops, for the Consecration Committee, and for all of our volunteers as we prepare for October 26th.

5) Study the service texts in advance so you know what to expect (a good practice for any Orthodox service). All the texts, along with a link to our personal "Digital Chant Stand" (courtesy of Fr. Seraphim Dedes and the Digital Chant Stand of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America).
